Our e-bikes are built from reused bicycles brought back to life by hand with volunteer labor. We collect bicycles from private donations and police confiscations to keep the prices low, and then add electric motors and controls. Lastly, we top them off with hand crafted batteries built using lithium ion cells recycled from laptops and power tools. This is truly upcycling! It is also how we can get you such an awesome product for so little cost.
E-bikes can be used instead of cars for lots of transportation needs! Trips to and from campus, to the coffee shop, or farmer's market can be made on our bikes using approximately 1% of the energy of a gasoline vehicle. They are fun to ride and the electric assistance helps you arrive sweat free!
Proceeds from our e-bike sales go to support our nonprofit organization whose main purpose is to create jobs and combat energy poverty in the troubled, Caribbean country of Haiti.
So when you ride our e-bikes, not only are you saving energy at home, you're also bringing energy to those living in energy poverty! This is truly social justice in the energy sector.
Each bike and rider are different, but you can expect performance like this:
